대한민국 소식 [인터뷰] 정영진 부산해양 경찰서장 "신이여 감사합니다."
유엔저널 이존영 기자 | 취재진은 부산 해양경찰서 정영진 총경을 만나 해양경찰에 대한 경험담을 소재로 인터뷰를 했다. 이글은 정영진 부산해양경찰서장의 당시 “경찰관 25명을 태운 승조함을 구출하는 경험담을 내용으로 인터뷰한 것이다. 정영진 서장은 ” 해양경찰에 入直입직하여 34여년의 많은 세월을 바다에서 보냈다. 먼저 그 동안 나를 믿고 따라와 준 아내와 아이들에게 고맙다는 인사를 하고 싶다. 집에서 생활하는 시간보다 바다에서 보내는 시간이 많았기에 가정에 소홀 할 수 있었음에도 묵묵히 뱃길을 봐주는 등대처럼 나를 따라준 가족들이 있었기에 여기까지 올수 있었다. 나는 부산해양경찰서장, 목포해양경찰서장, 5002함장 둥 일선의 지휘관으로 근무하면서 경험 한 내용을 기억을 더듬어 새로 담고자 한다. 1989. 10. 28일 해양경찰에 순경으로 투신하였다. 순경에서 총경까지 29년 걸려 승진하였는데 가장 오래 단 계급이 순경이었다. 변명을 하자면 당시 나이 27세로 직장에 대한 확신도 안서고, 내 적성을 고민하다 보니 누락된 것으로 기억한다. 그러나 이렇게 늦게 승진한 것이 결코 나의 해양경찰 생활에 마이너스적인 요인만은 아니었다. 승진에 누락된 동료들의 애환을
